In my last post I talked about the current interiors idyll of open-plan living and family spaces that opened straight out onto the garden. Which is all very well if you have a tidy house. And a tidy family. And, let’s face it, a kitchen to be proud of. Enter stage left – the striking new Black Line kitchen range from Team 7 at Wharfside. Here’s a kitchen that doesn’t look like a kitchen. It features matt black coloured glass combined with fine smoked glass. And a sense of minimal elegance is created by simple handles, stainless steel plinths, and black work tops all offset by the warmth of walnut.
I love the combination of matt black, solid wood and glass which give this kitchen such a warm feeling. The wooden shelves wouldn’t look out of place in a living room or office, and the smoked glass means you can put your favourite things on display without it looking too much like a kitchen. It’s sophisticated and quite masculine but also cosy.
Pictured here in walnut, the natural solid wood surfaces are also available in alder, oak, cherry, maple and beech.
So, when I get that open-plan space I’m craving, this is the kind of kitchen I want. One that looks, at first glance, just another part of the living room. That blends seamlessly into a warm comfortable space, oozing sophistication, with a variety of closed cupboards hiding the gizmo’s, and open shelves displaying the lovely stuff. In short, a kitchen to be proud of.
Prices start at £30,000.
