Plywood is not often a first choice when it comes to designer furniture, but Mario Tsai designed the Press Tables based on how easily it can bend. On its own plywood can be weak, but when it’s bent and joined together it becomes strong and that’s the idea behind the design. Tsai designed the tables to be assembled by the user simply by bending and attaching the plywood to the included metal rings.
Due to the flat nature of the plywood, the tables can be shipped flat-packed. Plywood is also fairly inexpensive, meaning costs for production and delivery are reduced.
