Now I think you might like these. Mid-century style school chairs with a contemporary twist. Interested? I thought you might be. Olivia Scott-Taylor works with her mother, Lesley, to create these fabulous chairs which you can buy in sets or in mismatching groups.
The idea came from Lesley who wanted to create something original for her own kitchen and decided to refurbish a collection of mid-century steel and ply chairs using paint effects and lacquering techniques. Like all the best brilliant ideas (why can’t I have one of these) as soon as her friends saw them they all wanted one and a business idea was born.
However, the reality of finding, and working with, original chairs quickly became apparent. Often the legs were twisted, the ply was split and they were simply too small and low for the modern bottom. It was then that Olivia came up with the idea of making their own chairs and it went from idea to business.
There are now 19 different styles starting at £145 and increasing to £165 for the striped back (as opposed to just painted legs) but they do offer a bespoke service if you want a particular colour combination that isn’t pictured on the site.
Do let me know what you think. I’m excited to show you them.
