New studio SUOMU Design recently debuted a tableware collection that focuses on creating a tactile tea time experience. Typically, tea time is well, focused on the tea, but SUOMU wants the experience to not only include tea, but also the tactile nature of having tea.
The BUTTON collection consists of two cup and saucer sets in varied sizes, as well as a tray and several other containers. As its name would suggest, it features soft curves like a button, as well as a single, button-like key element on each product. Each piece was CAD modeled and 3D printed, ensuring that all the geometric details were perfectly designed. Thus, giving the user a hidden tactile surprise when they touch something they expect to be smooth, but has a button-like experience.
