Benjamin Moore Paint Colour of the Year 2017

With so many rooms still to paint at home, any email that comes my way about paint colours immediately gets starred and pinned. It’s hard enough choosing a colour for a single room, let alone choosing colours for a whole house that work together and completely harmonise. There’s so much choice out there. And yes, us designers do make mistakes. I’m already having second thoughts about the green I chose for the office (sssshh, don’t tell the BF), and I’d love find a paint chart where I adore all of the colours and I can then remove the need to look elsewhere.

The 2017 Colour Trends palette from Benjamin Moore ranges from muted pales to saturated deeps. Immediately showing that you can have light and dark side by side. In fact it’s inspired by the concept of how shadow and light travel through a space during the course of a day, and it speaks to the newfound level of colour confidence in deeper hues that we are all finding so appealing these days.

The star of the show is Shadow, which has been named as the Benjamin Moore colour of the year for 2017. An allusive and enigmatic shade that is intense, luminous and dramatic. It calls to mind a historic past, but it is also an exuberant, contemporary colour-confident statement.

And as you can tell, I’m rather fond of Gentleman’s Gray, Dinner Party, and Chalk White. Now those are colours I could work with. Do you think Guacamole would work in my office?
