Paul McCobb was one of the leading American industrial designers of the 20th century, known for his clean lines and simple forms, and now his work joins the storied Republic of Fritz Hansen family. Part of his Planner Group Series, the Planner coffee tables, designed in 1953, are relaunching marking one of the first times a company is presenting an original McCobb design. Just as they were in 1953, the designs remain fresh and relevant falling right in line with Fritz Hansen’s catalog of timeless designs.
The Planner tables feature marble table tops measuring less than an inch thick with simple black steel bases that give the marble an almost floating appearance. There are three versions – circular, rectangular, and square – with two marble options that result in completely different looks. A cream-colored marble with grey-brown formations that add texture and a blackish grey marble with white veins and some grey shades.
