I didn’t actually visit Jaipur during my travels in India last Autumn, but if ever a fabric collection can evoke the memories, this one from Designers Guild certainly can. It’s new for Autumn, and Tricia Guild has worked her magic in conveying so well the vibrancy and colours I experienced first hand. Talk about transport me back! From the green lushness of the gardens around the monuments, to the red earthiness of the Pink Palace, to the cool, shimmering marble of the Taj Mahal at sunset. That’s without mentioning the frequent flashes of brightly coloured silks from the women’s saris. India is definitely the source of every colour combination you can possibly imagine. And this collection is a fitting tribute.
