If you are extra fond of our feathered friends you are in luck. There’s no shortage of plumage, beaks and feathers on all manner of homewares at the moment, whether it’s tableware, wallpaper, prints, lampshades or cushions. My money’s on the cushions. And for what it’s worth – stick to the more exotic variety, in the brightest, most colourful combinations you can find. That way it looks less granny-chic and more glamour-chic.

And Another Thing
Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo Extra Large Velvet Cushion, 80 x 40 cm, £75, The French Bedroom Company.
I’ve been opting more and more lately for the over-sized rectangular cushion. I’m talking 60 x 40 and upwards. The extra large size of this cushion means you only need one placed in front of the pillows on your bed. So much less faffing when you’re getting in at night, or making the bed in the morning. Works on your sofa too if you can’t stand too many cushions. Alternatively, this size of cushion would look perfectly scaled if used in pairs on a queen or king sized bed.
You’re welcome.
