Jaana and Esko Hjelt, the owners of Lapuan Kankurit call themselves fourth generation weavers. The company may be based in Finland but their beautiful products are worthy of mention. And for now they are available online (who knows post Brexit). Their products are the kind that look like a joy to use. When you learn that the company values sustainable development and pure natural materials, it just gets better and better.
Take a Look
The roots of the family business stretch back to the opening of the family’s first textile factory in 1917. Jaana and Esko know each and every one of their employees personally. The everyday workings of a weaving mill involve various different stages, and every one of them requires a skilled professional. So naturally they have surrounded themselves with an extensive network of passionate professionals including yarn dyers, designers and machinists.
The products themselves are multifunctional, meaning there is no right or wrong way to use them. Blankets can also be used as tablecloths or space dividers. Throws can be used as scarves. They all have that special look of high-quality textiles that get better and softer with every wash and will make you happy for decades. Which also means you can also leave a lasting inheritance for future generations.
