At first glance, this collection looks like a series of minimalist glassware. Zoom in and you’ll notice very distinct details that will make you question whether Lasvit or a pack of beavers made them. Appropriately named ‘Beaver,’ this six-piece collection was designed by Nendo with marks removed from the silhouette that look as if a beaver’s sharp teeth had chipped away at the base. Each glass features a randomly cut design that creates unique reflections when the light hits the crystal.
The collection includes wine glasses, tumblers, whisky glasses, carafe, flute glasses, and shot glasses.
The forms make you think of a tree where a beaver has gnawed its way through the trunk looking as if it’s about to fall over.
The unique design required skilled glass artists to slice off pieces of the solid base and then polish the deep cuts by hand.
