Trends: Home Decor Inspired by Nature

Home Decor Inspired by Nature

I’m rather smitten by the Origin range which is part of A by Amara’s newly launched Autumn and Winter 2017 collection.

It’s a lovely interpretation of a growing trend to furnish and decorate our homes with all things natural. And all things ‘inspired’ by nature. The range features a mix of textures and colours that bring to mind country walks, forest glades, and the sweeping landscapes of our beautiful shores. And just as in nature, neutral tones are freshened up with pops of lush green.

5 Trend Tips

1. Keep to a neutral colour palette. Browns, greys, beige, and cream. Muddy blues, and greens add interest too.

2. Stick to natural materials. Wood, stone, concrete, metal, rattan, marble. Are all great for this look and have the added advantage of looking immediately timeless.

3.Textures are very important to add interest. Driftwood, gnarled wood, knitted wool, string, woven accessories, pitted surfaces. All textures that are found naturally in nature.

4. Pops of green will enliven the scheme. This can be added in textiles, on wallpaper, or better still, with real plants.

5. The addition of a few metallic items (gold is warmer) will add a touch of luxury and sophistication.
