Designer Antonio Aricò was commissioned by altreforme, an Italian company known for their high-end furniture made of aluminum, to design this indoor/outdoor furniture collection. When Aricò set out to design the GALACTICA collection, he looked to iconic designer Eileen Grey and chose to create each piece focused on “‘disproportionate’ asymmetries, primitive volumes and graphic edges”. The personality-filled designs have a futuristic feel with strong geometry, bold silhouettes, and metallic colors.

Included in the aluminum, 10-piece collection are chairs, tables, a bench, screen, cabinet, accessories, and mirror, all of which were presented in Rho Fiera at Salone Del Mobile and just recently the collection landed in Aricò’s home region, Calabria. Aricò collaborated with Australian designer Richard Greenacre on the project.
