Moving on from the hot tropical prints that we have been filling our houses with of late. Or not, as the case may be. This is a botanical trend with a whole different feel. The cool, calming feel of a tramp in a temperate forest. The frosty breath of early autumn. The crunch of fallen leaves. And the rejuvenating remedy of a walk surrounded by trees that is a mood booster, and often a cure for stress. No, I’ve not suddenly moved into the next season. I’m still hanging on to summer, but just describing a mood. One that is restorative and good for the soul.

No surprise then that our busy lives and fast-paced schedules are tempting us to fill our homes with feelings of calm. Imagine bathing or waking to a misty forest scene? To sinking into soft velvet the colour of the deepest green leaf. Or accessorizing (if you are the faint hearted kind) with cushions, lampshades and artwork that remind you of a simpler, greener way of life.
Come on in, the forest is lovely.
