Confession time. We’ve recently cleared a lot of unwanted ‘stuff’ out of the garage and the big empty space is giving me ideas. There’s no likelihood of a car ever going in there – see my last post – so it needs a new purpose. And you know by now, I can’t leave an empty room empty, for very long before I want to decorate and style it.
Distressed Metal Locker, £645
I’m thinking potting shed if I’m being practical. We don’t have a garden shed, so it could be my she-shed. Hide-away for sure. Artists studio maybe. Oh, the possibilities.
Metal and Glass Terrarium, £235
And it will definitely be vintage in style. Full of all those lovely things that had a previous life. An old desk for potting on. An old metal chair to take the weight off. Antique terracotta, rusted metal, worn wood, rolls of string, old glass and good old-fashioned tools. Just for show. Useful shelves and cubby holes to squirrel away clutter. Drawers for plans and etchings, hooks for ease of use. A place for everything and everything in its place. Are you starting to get the picture?
