There’s no beating the high street stores for injecting some fresh new textiles or accessories into our existing home decor. Call it fast fashion for the home. It’s also a good way of introducing current trends without spending a fortune, only for them to fall out of favour again. And Next Home have really upped their game recently. Normally I’d have said that this popular store played it safe somewhat. Good solid style but not exactly trend-setting. But I have to say I’m really drawn to all of their new-for-summer ranges and particularly the Horizon collection. And for once I’m completely in love with blue. Not normally a colour I go for, but then again it does go so well with green. You only have to visit the Jardin Majorelle in Marrakesh to appreciate just how well. And maybe this was the inspiration because this collection has more than a hint of Morocco. See what you think?

What I Love Most
1.The strong sapphire blue colour palette, combined with deeper indigo and small accents of an equally strong green.
2.The white background (floors, shutters, walls), against which the blues sing out. A combination of East Coast America, Morocco and Scandinavia.
3. The layering of patterns from strong geometrics, antique rugs, scarf prints and more subtle flower prints on the curtains.
4. The addition of tropical plants to give it all an exotic feel.
