Even though the M in citizenM stands for Mobile (as in ‘mobile citizen’), we think it can stand for ‘modern’ too because it’s definitely one way you can describe the hospitality brand’s luxury hotels, including its Tower of London property. CitizenM is reinventing the hospitality experience in ways that makes complete sense given the technology readily available today, such as self check-ins, customizable guest rooms using touch-screen MoodPads, communal workspaces, and more.
While the weather in London isn’t always ideal, we can pretty much guarantee you’ll want to spend some time inside this hotel regardless of rain or shine.
The hotel’s interiors was designed by Dutch firm concrete and features floor-to-ceiling bookcases filled with art, books, and exclusive objects from citizenM’s own personal collection. Limited edition, original artworks by artists like Dominic Harris, Peter Lamb, and Julian Opie also adorn the walls and halls of the hotel.
You can customize your room to your preferences using a touchscreen MoodPad, which controls the television, blinds, temperature, colored lighting, alarms, and more.
Feeling hungry? You can stop by canteenM, a 24-hour grab-&-go style cafeteria with an open kitchen and full-service cocktail bar. There’s also a coffeeM, a coffee and pastries bar, as well as a cloudM, a cocktail bar where you can enjoy drinks on the hotel’s wrap around terrace overlooking incredible views of London’s skyline.
collectionM is the hotel’s a one-stop shop for a curated collection of souvenirs for you to take home, with things like travel accessories, design objects, books, and art from over 20 creative brands available for purchase.
Thanks to a design partnership with Vitra, you’ll be able to relax on a collection of colorful, modern furniture. Furnishings designed by Verner Panton, Charles & Ray Eames, and Jean Prouvé also outfit the space.
Oversized living rooms, communal workspaces and single desks cultivate a community-like environment at the Tower of London where guests are encouraged to work, study, and hang out.
For the business-minded, societyM has a series of eight meeting rooms equipped with free wifi, whiteboards, blackboards, and phones to help you get some work done. There are also Apple iMac stations available for use. Decor like vintage typewriters and Bakelite radios lends themselves to the 1950s inspired aesthetic created by concrete.
Studio Drift designed these unique, material covered lamps that continuously float up and down around the hotel, creating a magical lantern-filled atmosphere.
