Collaborative Post
It seems to me that the quality of sofa designs, and the variety of colours on offer, just keeps on getting better and better. When Darlings of Chelsea asked me to take a look at their latest offerings I was blown away by just how stunning they all were. So much so, that I’m even considering changing my sofa (that is only four years old btw, but so boringly practical) for something with a bit more style and colour. Mood-changing colour. In velvet. The only problem is, narrowing down the choice. Here’s my favourites for what it’s worth.

Harrow Midi Sofa in Varase Duck Egg
It’s the traditionally inspired shape with elegant low curved arms and deep seat that draws me in. I know I’ll be able to sink in and curl my feet under me. I prefer a fixed back too. Less cushion plumping (I’m such a neat freak, cushion plumping is a particular affliction of mine), and that’s always a bonus. It’s a lovely colour too. Not my usual choice, but very easy on the eye. I might put this one in my ‘when I move to the country permanently’ file.
Dulwich Grand Sofa in Varese Platinum
Such easy elegance. Yes, it’s grey but the beauty of buying from Darlings of Chelsea is that you choose your style and then you can choose from a range of vibrant colours. I love the folds of fabric on the arms, like the folds on a couture dress. I know I’d sit more ladylike on the Dulwich Grand.
Paisley Midi Sofa – in Vintage Green
Now this is my colour of choice. For the house I live in right now. The classic design of this sofa with its deep buttoning and gradual curved back looks ultra comfortable and inviting. Perfect for pairing with tropical prints and an abundance of real, living plants.
Malvern Midi Sofa in Varese Velvet Teal
But wait a minute, maybe this is the colour? A modern take on classical styles of the past, in a deep enveloping blue. It’s low fluted back and small curved arms with a fixed seat cushion look both comfortable and chic.
Pure indulgence. The perfect combination of classic and modern design, with traditional buttoning on the back and contrasting contemporary arms. There’s a beautiful selection of fabrics to choose from, but don’t be put off by the trendy blush pink colour – it’s stain resistant fabric. The Charnwood does look achingly luxurious.
I might have the space in the living room for a snuggler too, but actually I’d love one of these in the bedroom. Somewhere to escape to with a book for an afternoon. It might be an ideal love seat but I’d want it all to myself.
This post was written in partnership with Darlings of Chelsea but I only ever work with companies I love and would use myself, and all views are my own.
