Perception is an exhibition of furniture exhibited during Barcelona Design Week, curated by Sanna Völker. The installation was held at Ox Poblenou in Barcelona, a gallery located in an industrial building where the visitors experienced the contrast of the raw, factory-like surroundings when entering a completely white, luminous space on the fifth floor.
Overlapping semi-translucent curtains were in constant movement due to the soft breeze that together with the sunlight created dramatic shades of metallic patterns, glass surfaces and water along the floors. Accompanied by the experience of walking through the exhibition in a soft zigzag route is a mystical smell of wood and a dynamic sound installation by Matias Bieniaszewski, who converted the sounds of the designed objects into a musical piece.
The work of the product and furniture designers Max Enrich, Goula/Figuera, Sebastian Alberdi, Alejandra Perini, Alberto Vitelio, Proyecto Rastro, Kiwi Bravo and Sanna Völker have all been designed keeping the physical experience in mind.
