Morning, Noon, Night is the second book by Soho House. The 300-page, cloth-bound book invites readers behind the scenes at the Soho Houses – taking them through the day, from the second they wake up to the moment they go to bed. And it’s not just a coffee table book. It sets out key elements of the Soho House way of living and includes helpful features, like how to make a tasty vegan breakfast or how to create the perfect bedroom, with plenty of inspirational new imagery along the way.

And it came as no surprise that Bert & May tiles are featured in many of the Soho Houses. With a commitment to raw materials, natural pigments and fine craftsmanship, Bert & May has become a name synonymous with a simple and elegant aesthetic. And of course they are featured in the book.

The business began life in Spain as a reclaimed tile company founded by Lee Thornley, a former barrister who moved from London in 2004. The company has since evolved into a specialist supplier of handmade artisan tiles, engineered wood, natural pigment paints, and most recently, furniture, bathroom fittings and kitchens.

Rebranded and officially launched as Bert & May in September 2013, the company has since gone on to produce an extensive collection of distinctive graphic and geometric tiles, as well as engineered wood, made in Yorkshire. In September 2013, Bert & May opened their first London showroom and retail space in Vyner Street in Bethnal Green (a special place for me, as it’s where I grew up), where the full collection is available as well as a complete design service.

And what you may not be aware of is the Bert & May Supper Club. Held on the first Thursday of every month in the London Showroom and featuring a different chef every time, diners are treated to canapes and drinks on the Bert & May barge (moored up on the canal outside) before enjoying a tasting menu based on fresh seasonal produce. Give it a go. I’ve personally tried it and you won’t be disappointed.

The Bert & May Supper Club can be booked here.

Morning, Noon, Night is available from 24th November and you can pre-order a copy here.
