A Furniture Collection Inspired by a Hotel

A Furniture Collection Inspired by a Hotel

What came first, the chicken or the egg? Or, in this case, the hotel or the furniture? For Vírgula i architecture studio, they first renovated the Hotel Minho in Portugal. As they were designing it, they also ended up creating over 37 custom pieces of furniture to match their vision for the hotel. It only made sense to expand those pieces of furniture into a custom collection that echoed the strong aesthetics, wood craftsmanship, and traditional joinery techniques of the original furniture. Thus, the Bracara collection, manufactured by Paularte, was born.

The Bracara bed is a solid oak bed with curvy edges, efficient joinery, and is one of highlights of the collection. It is easy to put together, thanks to the wood’s modulation system.

The Bracara trolley was first designed to be in the hotel spa, and is also made completely of solid oak. It has an adjustable lacquered tray and its different levels serve multiple functions.

The modular Bracara sideboards come in a variety of lengths, with a wall mounting system that even comes with a Carrara marble top. It is manufactured in the same warm wood as the rest of the collection, but has special handmade handles, adding an elegant touch.

Lastly, their bench has all the same trademark wood and efficient joinery as the whole collection. Simple yet of the highest quality, the bench is the epitome of the Hotel Minho look and feel.
