The iconic Mah Jong sofa has been a staple for French furniture brand Roche Bobois since it was introduced in the 1970s by designer Hans Hopfer. Over the years, the mattress-like seating has been refreshed by the likes of Missoni Home, Jean Paul Gaultier, Sonia Rykiel Maison, and now by fashion designer Mimi Plange. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, covered in one of six custom fabrics by Plange featuring her signature modern takes on traditional African designs.
Plange designed the unique textiles for the Mah Jong furniture exclusively for Utopia, a charity event held at the Atlanta Roche Bobois showroom this month. The proceeds benefitted Horizons Atlanta.
