I have to confess I’m not a great lover of sales. Not the kind of shop floor sales where you have to fight to free clothes from a bulging rack. Or the kind where you’re lucky if you can actually find your size, or anything at all that you would have considered buying at full price. I never understood the thrill of finding a bargain that took hours of slog. And I just don’t have the patience to persevere when everything in the shop looks like it belongs in a jumble sale. But that’s clothes shopping. In the high street.
Homeware and furniture sales online, are another matter entirely. It’s often worth waiting for the sales to snap up that item that you’ve been hovering over for months. Especially home accessories. What better time to stock up on the things that just seemed too extravagant at full price. After all, how many vases, boxes and prints can a home have? Do I really need it? Well, when it’s half price yes I do!
