Just because we’re entering the season of outdoor entertaining, doesn’t mean it can’t be a sophisticated and elegant affair. The Safari Collection from our high street favourite Marks and Spencer has really caught my imagination with its scenes of Indian palaces and African game. The sepia tinted images and crackle glaze finish might look as if you have brought out the inherited china, but in actual fact it’s melamine. Robust enough for even the most rowdy of barbecues, but I’ve no doubt it will bring out the best in any guest. They might even dust off the dinner jacket especially for the occasion. So, forget the paper serviettes. This collection calls for embroidered napkins, gold cutlery, amber tinted tumblers and a few prowling predators.
