Chic New Cutlery Inspired by Architecture

Chic New Cutlery Inspired by Architecture

Alessi worked with Ben van Berkel of UNStudio to launch a new, sculptural set of cutlery named Giro. With sleek edges and faceted shadows, this cutlery set freezes dynamic motion into a solid set of dining accessories.

Giro originates from the Italian word for turn, which gives nod to the twist in the shape of the cutlery, as well as how it rotates in a hand for most efficient usage. It features an ergonomic silhouette and special design that ensures the utensil is supported when in use or being lifted. These architectural elements are a signature trait of UNStudio that have been scaled down and adapted into a tactile framework for touch.
