It’s been widely discussed that living with nature can help one live a more balanced life along with helping us live longer, but rarely do we think about how smaller design can elevate our outdoor experience. To help with that, Gloster is launching scaled down accessories with the first being a modern birdhouse and bird feeder designed by Mark Gabbertas. The goal was to focus on the needs of both the birds using them, as well as the people observing them. The result is a pair of outdoor objects that merge function with design practicality that are bound to make any outdoor space more pleasant.
The bird feeder is made from powder coated aluminum and solid teak and designed to hang from the included wire or mounted on a pole. A funnel-shaped roof keeps squirrels away while keeping the food protected from the elements. The two feeder levels allow for two types of food and the bottom one is specially sealed if you prefer to fill it with water. It can easily be taken apart for cleaning or storage.
The nesting box is constructed from the same materials as the feeder with the aluminum enclosing the teak box. The inner wooden box has an open top that allows for air circulation. The interior is roomy enough for baby birds to grow and its small opening prevents larger birds and predators from entering. The box can be removed for regular cleaning, reinserted, and held inside with magnets. The design can be mounted on a pole or attached to a wall.
