Dunelm are going down the Scandinavian style Christmas look here with lots of natural greenery and a pared down scheme. The emphasis is on all things natural. Simple hanging wreaths make great table centres and are easy to rustle up using foraged foliage and eucalyptus from the florists. The wooden boxes have dual purpose for more plants (I’m thinking fragrant bulbs too), candles and could even be used to serve food. And everything else is kept very simple. Discretely patterned plates, elegant glass, fir cones, cinnamon sticks and cute tied bouquets. Add some faux fur to the chairs to keep them warm and comfy, and enjoy.

Cool As Ice

Debenhams have gone down a different route with a very sophisticated silver and grey scheme. This would work for dinner on New Year’s Eve too with it’s elegant silver touches and very grown-up black additions. The soft linen tablecloth sets the scene with a stunning silver candle holder creating the main decoration. Add on-trend black cutlery and a few glittery balls for a very non-traditional festive look.
