I don’t necessarily buy into all the hype surrounding Mother’s Day but that doesn’t mean ignoring it completely. I’m just on the receiving end these days as I no longer have a living mother to spoil, but when she was alive I did enjoy making a small fuss of her. Me? I’m more than happy with a card and a visit. But I do usually get flowers too, and a meal cooked for me so I’m very lucky. It’s also a day that coincides with the start of the new season, so if you fancy spoiling mum with something special and springlike you’ve come to the right place.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas from Amara

Instead of buying an elaborate bouquet of expensive flowers, why not spend the cash on a handsome vase? It will last much longer and you can always present it with a few sprigs of her favourite blooms. I know I’d like this.

Spending a few £££’s on something that will be loved and displayed forever is also a good idea. There’s no need to spend a fortune either. Most of the above are under £50 and she will know you’ve put a lot of thought and effort into the gesture.

I do love to be spoiled with a home cooked meal even if it is in my own kitchen. And even if I do end up with the clearing up! A prettily decorated table hasn’t happened yet (boys don’t think of such things obviously) but it would be appreciated.
