I love it when the high street gets it so right. When they interpret the current and upcoming trends in such a way that we can experiment in our own homes without breaking the bank. Or making permanent changes. Let’s face it fashions change rapidly. And although trends in interiors move more slowly, we don’t always want to make a commitment we might regret later. Buying from the high-street enables us to update our homes with the changing seasons too. Win, win, win.
Copper wire lamp, £30. Terrarium, £8. Marble side table, £59. Mono vase, £15. Glynn medium sofa, £375. Tortoise cushion, £6. Insect cushion, £5. Leaf and bird cushion, £5. Triangle floor seat, £39. Mark making rug, from £20.
And I really like the Botanical Rhapsody Collection that George Home have launched for spring/summer 2017. They have combined lots of current trends. The botanical trend is still going strong but they have been conservative with it. Much like we would probably be in our own homes. A cushion here and there. A bedding set for the bedroom. A terrarium for our plants. A cactus vase.
Details as above.
And they have combined these leafy greens (also hot for 2017) with grey. Not just grey, but Scandinavian inspired furniture, geometric prints, marble and copper. All hot, hot, hot right now.
Details as above.
It’s such an easy look to live with. Calming, modern, fashionable, and very easy to change next spring when new trends hit the high street. Just change the cushions and accessories. Job done.
