When you have a compact living space or you live in a rental, smaller, easy-to-transport furniture is essential. Knowing you’re moving again in six months and you have a massive sofa that weighs enough to require 3-4 people to move it, can be stressful and expensive. Kunikazu Hamanishi, of Hamanishi DESIGN, designed Blanco as a smarter alternative. The two-seater folding sofa easily comes together with a simple tubular frame, cushion, and two leather belts that result in a comfortable, stylish sit.
The Blanco comes flat-packed, which means you can also take it apart when the time comes to move. It assembles in a matter of minutes with its cushion attaching to the X-shaped frame with the help of rods. After it’s secured, the belts tighten and help keep the frame’s shape while also adding a distinct design element.
